The NASA Workbench, also known as Rocket Crafting Table, is a specialized item assembly table which is used to craft a Tier 1 Rocket as well as other unlockable vehicles and items which require schematics in order to unlock them.

This is important because there is no other way of making a spaceship! Once the player has made the 1st spaceship they can then get to the Moon.

Basic Components:

Usage

The NASA Workbench is 4 blocks tall and 3 blocks wide, so be sure to allow ample space when placing.

Right-clicking on the Workbench will pull up the interface. By default this will show the 'Tier 1 Rocket' as it is already unlocked. You can change tabs by pressing the Next or Back buttons on either side of the inventory.

Schematics can be added via the Schematics tab, enabling you to create a broader range of space vehicles. Currently, the only other vehicle schematics available are the Moon Buggy, the Tier 2 Rocket, the Tier 3 Rocket, and the Cargo Rocket.

Adding storage space

It is possible to add storage space to the vehicle by putting Chests (for rockets) or Buggy Storage Boxes (for Moon Buggy) in the three green boxes at the top-right corner of the GUI.

Each green box adds 18 slots of storage in the vehicle inventory: 18, 36 and 54. It must be done along with the crafting of the vehicle. It is not possible to add storage in an existing vehicle.

Oh, it's more magical than that! It automatically opens up and turns towards players who get close to it. When nobody is around, the book is closed and spins slowly.

Notch[1]

An enchanting table[a] is a block that allows players to spend their experience point levels to enchanttools, weapons, books and armor.

Obtaining[edit]

An enchanting table can be obtained by crafting or mining. If mined without a pickaxe, it drops nothing.

Crafting[edit]

Usage[edit]

The enchanting table is 34 blocks high.

It cannot be moved by pistons. If an enchanting table is placed on ice, the player slides on it as though it is an ice block, just like with slabs.

Enchanting[edit]

The enchanting table's main purpose is to enchant items. The table can enchant all tools, armor and gear except hoes‌[Bedrock and Legacy Console editions only], shears, flint and steel, carrot on a stick, shield, elytra, carved pumpkin, mob head, lead and horse armor; all of these (excluding leads and horse armor) can instead be enchanted using an anvil and an appropriate enchanted book.

When a bookshelf is placed next to an enchanting table (with one block of air in between) it increases the maximum enchantment level. There must be 15 bookshelves around the enchanting table in order to obtain the maximum enchantment level of 30. See enchantment mechanics for more specific details.

Light source[edit]

Enchanting tables emit a light level of 12.‌[Bedrock Edition only]

Standard Galactic Alphabet[edit]

The arcane glyphs that float from bookshelves to the enchanting table and the cryptic runes in the enchanting table's interface are written in the Standard Galactic Alphabet, which is a simple alphabet substitution cipher used in the Commander Keen series of computer games.

The arcane glyphs cannot be seen if "particles" in the video settings is set to "minimal".

The cryptic runes seen in the interface are randomly constructed from the following list of words:

air animal ball beast berata bless cold creature cthulhu cube curse darkness demon destroy dry earth elder elemental embiggen enchant fhtagnbaguette fiddle fire free fresh galvanize grow hot humanoid ignite imbue inside klaatu light limited mental mglwnafh niktu of other phnglui physical range rlyeh scrolls self shorten shrink snuff sphere spirit stale stretch the towards twist undead water wet wgahnagl xyzzy

Three to five words are chosen from the list and appended to each other, then displayed in the Standard Galactic Alphabet. The words chosen are random and purely cosmetic: they have no relation to the enchantments to be applied to the item and are not saved on the enchanted item (meaning they say nothing about the spell's identity), and they are displayed only in the enchanting table. Only the cost and one of the enchantments is known.

Custom name[edit]

By default, the GUI of an enchanting table is labeled "Enchant", but this name can be customized by naming the enchanting table in an anvil before placing it, or by changing the tag using the command.

12w50aAdded a new armor enchantment: Thorns.
The player can now add the Silk Touch enchantment to shears and the Unbreaking enchantment to anything that has durability.
Efficiency has been nerfed a bit, so that enchanted tools that don't match the block the player is breaking no longer work as quickly as before (e.g. Efficiency V Pickaxes no longer instantly break dirt or wood logs).
1.5?Efficiency has been completely nerfed when using tools on the wrong block types - they now break the block at the same rate as the player's bare fists.

Trivia[edit]

  • The enchantment table actually produces the particles emitted from the bookshelves. These particles originate inside the Enchantment table and are relocated to the bookshelf almost immediately, but travel slow enough to be briefly visible. The particle that enters and leaves the bookshelf is always the same "letter", but the ones traveling into the bookshelves are black.
  • Enchantment tables are mostly made of obsidian, and thus have a blast resistance of 6,000 and cannot be destroyed by TNT.
  • Enchantment tables are midway between slabs and full blocks height-wise, so they could be potentially used as a TNT cannon's range-amplifier instead of slabs or trapdoors
  • When the player is invisible, the enchantment table can still "see" the player and open up.
  • On the enchantment screen, captions in the Standard Galactic Alphabet includes several in-jokes:
    • On October 1, 2011, Notch tweeted an image of the enchantment screen, with enchantments .[6] The first enchantment translates into "Well Played Internets You Are Good", the second translated into "These Names Will Be Random And Confusing", and the third translates to "Each Spell Costs Experience Levels".
    • Three of the possible words for enchantments are "the elder scrolls," likely a joke at Bethesda, creator of "The Elder Scrolls" series and whose parent company, Zenimax, attempted to sue Mojang for the name of their game Scrolls.
    • The words "klaatu berata niktu" are a (misspelled) reference to "Klaatu barada nikto", a phrase that originates from the 1951 movie The Day the Earth Stood Still and has been since used as a reference in many other movies, cartoons and games.
    • Similarly, "Xyzzy" is a magic spell in the game "Colossal Cave Adventure" and has been used in several other games as an Easter Egg or cheat code.
    • The word "embiggen" is a fictional word coined by The Simpsons quote: "A Noble Spirit Embiggens the Smallest Man".
    • The words "phnglui mglwnafh cthulhu rlyeh wgahnagl fhtagnbaguette" are a quote from H. P. Lovecraft's short story "The Call of Cthulhu," apart from the extra "baguette" at the end.
  • On the block can be seen the Book, Obsidian and Diamonds used to craft it, but the red blanket appears from nowhere
  • Of the list of words that the enchantment table uses, none of the words contain the letters "J" or "Q". Although they are not used in the words, they do have a symbol attached to them, and can be seen moving from the bookshelf and the table.

Gallery[edit]

  • The new enchantment table enchanting grid with extra slot for Lapis Lazuli.

  • The enchantment table receiving knowledge from nearby bookshelves.

  • The enchantment table with the book closed and spinning.

  • Color coded texture for the book entity.

  • Color code legend for book entity texture guide.

  • The GUI of the enchantment table in Bedrock Edition (top = no item, bottom = with item hovering on the second line).

Glyphs flowing from the bookshelves animation.
Black-textured particles are "fired" into the bookshelves, which later emit the corresponding particle to the enchantment table. (Visible on the red book on the top-left bookshelf, and above the green book on the bottom-left bookshelf, and in the animation farther up the page as a brief flicker).

The Crafting Table II is a crafting table that scans the items in your inventory and displays them in a chest-like manner. You may select an item from this interface and it will appear in a 9x2 area below the item area. This is a seperate mod and is compatible with all mod items in The Yogbox. The recipe to create this table is very simple. It is created by using a Book and a Crafting table. This table is not only able to create items like chests from wood in your inventory, it may craft through multiple levels.

AppearanceEdit

The Crafting Table II looks similar to the regular crafting table, however it has some defining characteristics that set it appart from the vanilla Crafting Table. It is slightly smaller, has a cabnet that opens when the player approaches it which contains the same tools that can be seen on a vanilla Crafting Table, and it has a book on the table itself.

Is this some sort of joke? It's completely gone from the game... Guess I'm going to have to go back to the previous version. Why the hell would they remove something so crucial?

GT: Pip Tc

From what I remember it was broken even in the last couple of versions with several ways of duping items etc with it. I'd argue the crucial comment as well but I suppose that's a play style thing, personally I never used it and always made the project bench's instead as the built in storage was always brilliant.

Couldn;t you use the automatic crafting tables as a replacement? Or do they work differently as I never used them personally.

Considering Tekkit comes with NEI, it's not really a big deal that the table caused duplication... if you wanted to cheat, the option was there regardless. There are too many recipes which require multiple steps in order to get to the one you want, like the combustion engines I was about to make. Instead of making wood gears, then stone gears, then iron gears, then making pistons, then putting them all together (and arranging them in the right order mind you), I could just have all the items I needed in my inventory and be able to go right to it. That right there was a tame example too, there are ones that require diamond gears which in itself takes 4+ steps not to mention the other items required.

Only argument I'm seeing is "people are too lazy to remember the recipes". It's not about laziness, it's convenient. I play on a laptop without a mouse and it's pretty tedious having to go through the crafting process constantly. Vanilla minecraft I can understand not having it, but tekkit, especially with all the mods and recipes that come with it, it's very important.

GT: Pip Tc

I get the convenience thing, most of tekkit is built around making the process of getting to where you want to be more efficient and easier, personally I build loads of each item the first time i need them and like I said store them in project bench's so they're there whenever I need them but that's a play-style difference thing. I'm guessing there must have been a deeper reason why it was removed like a major conflict or something as they don't normally remove things without a reason like FOrestry for example which I would argue is a much bigger loss to the pack.

Currently Playing: MineCraft (PC), Minecraft name: KillerDumpling, 360/PSN GT: TheWerePanda

The convenience of it is questionable in my opinion. I often found myself spending more time looking for the item in crafting table 3 then it would take to craft it from scratch.

And the duplication thing is more to do with multiplayer than single player.

New patch out? Quick! Everyone complain!

It's not so bad when you don't have a full inventory of items. Either way, it's not like you couldn't use the regular crafting bench. I'm not too worried, I have downgraded to a previous version and all is well. Just hoping they don't add something I find interesting in a newer version and make me have to choose between the two.

GT: Pip Tc

If your inventory is getting full make a couple of alchemist bags or I think one one of the other mods has a backpack of sorts to add extra inventory space to carry stuff around with.

Currently Playing: MineCraft (PC), Minecraft name: KillerDumpling, 360/PSN GT: TheWerePanda

If you play exclusively on single player you could just add the mod manually, couldn't you?

New patch out? Quick! Everyone complain!

Yeah adding mods to tekkit is the same process as vanilla, except sometimes you have to manually modify other mods, for example, tekkit doesn't have forestry anymore, so if you wanted to add forestry, after doing the whole "add zipped mod in mod folder" you need to find and edit equivalent exchange mod and remove the forestry folder there because it would conflict with the actual forestry mod.

Now... knowing which mods could cause conflict because they already come with some integrated parts of other mods is the hard part...

And IIRC, didn't they remove crafting table mk3 because it was a pain in the ass, and because of the dupe glitch?... also i think i heard they're removing EE too?

People abusing the poll system with stupid polls is going out of control.
Please stop posting stupid polls.

Or..you could've used a normal crafting table. You remember that thing we used way back when?
