The website is really nice with just the right features. My favorite is the alert feature of when an out of stock is available again. The ordering process is very straight forward. And the best part is before you would want to check for any update/status of your payment/order, there will a message in your inbox to tell you exactly what you want to know. EasyMold Silicone Rubber is a easy to use, odor free, non-toxic, two .. for Lot DIY Craft Resin Casting Molds Kit Silicone Mold Making Jewelry Pendant Mould .
Used this Many times.
It takes getting used to.
The sMell is intoxicating!!
First, use more of the release, I know its expensive, but its worth it. I drissle it. The mold will turn white, that is if your using the latex stuff found usually by the resin stuff in local craft store.
(If your not using the latex, reply back what you are using. I find it interesting that you aren't asking how to clean the mold, rather then removing the mold.)
Second, if you use more catalyst like 10 drops per oz. it will harden MUCH faster & it will act like a hard plastic rather than a rubbery/stickey resin, but I still keep inside mold overnight. I have taken out the finished resin after this process within 20 minutes & it is still harder like plastic but it is less stickey if you wait overnite. As you remove the finished resin from the mold, shake regular baby powder around it (you will need an assistant w/ rubber gloves on too). This helps a whole lot for the pulling/sticking to the mold. I dump that cheap baby powder all over my resin so I can handle it with bare hands, etc while pulling out & after its out, it is always covered in powder.
I let it set/sit for about a week (outside/inside, well ventillated) before I begin to handle it for painting & fixing imperfections.
You can wash the powder off easily under regular tap water (wearing rubber latex, gloves).
I, usually wear the gloves until I have a coat of paint on it so I can handle it. If you want to handle it sooner you can spray paint primer & then its handleable.
If you want it to be clear/transparent you could try Polyurathane spray painted, wait till completely dry.
I've found that its not the removing of the finished resin that is difficult but the cleaning of the molds afterwards... ugh! No Fun! Do you have any suggestions if using the same mold as me?
There is also a number on the products that they say you can call for any questions. I haven't done that, but I ment to. They might have something helpful to say too.
Also, one last thing. I just did my own research today about making viynl figures & I got SOOO much info from just Googling, "how do you make detailed vinyl toys". So do exactly that & it will take you to one of many sites like www.mnartists.org, you have to be in the info for making vinyl toys though (ie Figurepunk). Also, another one that gave me ton's of websites for referances, etc go to the one that is called: www.vinylabuse.com
One last thing, while I was doing all this I found a new awesome exclusive ART magazine, with very limited amounts availiable called, "I want Your Skull Zine"; www.iwantyourskull.com.
Everyone needs to check these out before they are all sold out. They are great for collectors who are into skull art!!
Hope this will help you or others.
