Hello, Adventurers.

This is The MMORPG, Black Desert.

We’d like to announce the updates made to the Black Desert as of 2019, June 26. (Last modified: July 1, 2019 15:20)

(Patch volume approx. 522.69MB)

※ For the details, please refer to the contents below.

【 MAJOR UPDATES – NEW CLASS SHAI 】

  • ● A new character Shai was added.

[ Developer’s Comment ]

The Shai have been a beloved part of the world of Black Desert, and now, you can play as a Shai yourself. The Shai is not a combat based character so she offers new ways for you to play. Please go ahead and begin a new adventure with your very own Shai!

  • ● Shai has a high level of understanding Alchemy and Gathering as she is from the Florin. Therefore, she is already given Professional 1 Alchemy and Gathering skills.

- Due to the given life level, Shai can’t go through some life quests including alchemy and gathering quests of Florin.

※ Shai's Gathering and Alchemy level will not fall below Professional 1 even when you use EXP transfer coupons, as they only transfer EXP you've collected.

  • ● Since Shai is from Florin, she will experience more friendly dialogue with Florin villagers compared to existing characters. She will also has slightly different quest lines in Florin.
  • ● Shai exclusive Bonfire Tool was added.

- Bonfire Tool can be crafted with Simple Alchemy by using 5 of any kind of timber, such as logs, 5 Rough Stones, and 5 Powder of Flame.

- Using the Bonfire Tool will create a Bonfire.

- Bonfires last 10 minutes. They heal nearby allies for 50 HP per 10 seconds and cure hypothermia.

- Bonfire Tools have a cooldown of 30 minutes.

  • ● Shai has been with donkeys since she was young. She knows well how to handle them, and is even able to gallop on them.

- Shai still prefers her donkey and is not yet ready to mount horses. However, her inquisitive nature will surely solve that once she gets interested in horses.

  • ● Our lovely Shai is specialized in life skill, hence her damage is greatly reduced in PvP.
  • ● Added a special Shai icon.
  • ● Shai will now be displayed in the first slot during character creation.
  • ● Shai's shoulders are too small for small cats or birds to rest on them.

※ Please note that Shai and all new characters can only acquire Costumes from Costume Boxes once all their costumes are released.

【 MAJOR UPDATES – NEW DONKEY 】

  • ● 3 new donkeys were added to celebrate the release of Shai.

[ Developer’s Comment ]

Donkeys have been a part of the world of Black Desert since the beginning, but they never received the attention they deserve. With the release of Shai, we would like to give the donkeys a well deserved fresh new start as well. Although they cannot completely replace horses, we plan to start off with them being companions of the Shai and add more donkey specific functions as time goes by. Not being noticed by monsters and having a sort of roaming mode would be good examples.

- The new donkeys are Derome, Cherose, and Vallet, and they can acquire special skills from leveling.

- These new skills can only be used by the Shai.

- The new donkeys can acquire 4 skills as stated below.

※ The skill Just Chillin' is already learned on level 1. The other 3 skills have a high chance to be learned as they grow.

Skill

Description

Hind Kick!

Kick the enemies behind you with hind legs.

Run Run!

Gallop at a fast pace.

Step Aside

Dash forward to hit enemies in front.

Just Chillin'

This is a roaming mode where you can just chill on the back of your donkey and wander the world. Press E while mounted on a donkey to change Shai's position. Press it again to lie down on your back. Pressing T during these positions will make the donkey set off on a slow walk.

- You can travel the world of Black Desert more easily once you grow your donkey to acquire all skills and have their items equipped.

  • ● New donkey gears were added.

- Apostle of Immorality

- Harbinger of Immorality

- Apostle of Malevolence

[Developer’s Comment]

Initially, this earring was planned to be added with the release of Star's End, but we needed more time to test it because it is different from existing items. Also, many players gave feedback on Star's End, such as zone efficiency. We hope this patch can resolve some of those issues.

The Black Distortion Earring has high AP, but will drop your DP. With this, we plan to give more choices in items to adventurers, depending on their playstyles.

|  MONSTER

  • ● The Aakman Temple monster zone has been updated as below.

- The respawn rate of monsters has been increased by 40% up to 60%, depending on the size of the room.

- Monsters have been added or relocated.

[ Developer's Comment ]

Those of you who've experienced the Aakman Temple will understand the direction of the patch. This zone has many different sized rooms, with each having different popularity depending on the efficiency in monster arrangement and population. With this week's patch, we've reduced the respawn time of all monsters of Aakman Temple and timed them differently in each room for leveled efficiency. Also, you will now be able to continue fighting in one room, similar to when the monster zone event was on, instead of jumping from one room to another. We are also working on other zones to better them, while keeping their characteristics.

|  MOUNT

  • ● Fixed the issue where using the horse flute before getting on the Old Moon Sky Balloon would sometimes cause the mount to follow the Sky Balloon.

|  NPC, BACKGROUND, SOUND

  • ● The "Retrieve Items" button has been removed from all Marketplace NPCs.

※ Please note that all previously uncollected items and silver were distributed as below.

- Registered Silver → Distributed to your Mail (B)

  • ● Fixed the issue where characters were unable to get out of certain areas around the Gervish Mountains.
  • ● Fixed the issue where the posture of some of the NPCs in the Western Guard Camp would be awkward.

|  QUEST & KNOWLEDGE

  • ● Returning quests have been revamped.

- Returning quest can now be done only once per family. Any adventurers who are in process of one already completed in the past or have completed them cannot accept those quests again.

- Revamped Returning quests will be available at specific levels, with the same rewards as before.

- Revamped Returning quests will have their information given upon reaching certain levels to minimize confusion with existing main quests.

  • ● The Black Spirit now will not appear to give Returning quests to returning adventurers.

Life quests also come with guides to help you along the way. This week's change addressed some of the older information regarding Mediah main quests. Magic gathering tools give the best gathering speed and Lucky and Magic tools give a bonus to obtaining rare resources like: To obtain the crafting cost for a Lucky Tool, multiply.

Hello and welcome to a brand new edition to the guide section. This is Jaela’s Basic gathering guide for new BDO players. You probably a basic idea of how to “failstack” now but don’t have the Hard and Sharp Shards that you need to take your equipment to the next level. I’m here to help give you a quick and clear guide on how to get Hard and Sharp shards in Black Desert Online.

When gathering, you have to address two different key areas: Gathering Level and Gathering Tools

1. Gathering Level: Clothing

One of the most important things you can do is to get your gathering level to +5. Like Attack Speed, Luck, etc, “Gathering Ability
maxes out at +5. Lucky for you, we have a +1 gathering skill just for being part of the guild. I’m going to show you how to go from zero to hero! Well, more like zero to +5.

Notice that my alt has no levels in gathering. This is to demonstrate how to go from beginner to master 🙂 So anyways, now that you have your +1 from the guild, how do we get the other 4 gathering levels? One important thing you will need to gather is proper “Silver Embroidered Gatherer’s Clothes.” You can see that a +2 Gathering Clothes yields +2 gathering levels, while an un-enchanted one only gives you a + gathering level.

You can try and buy +2 gathering clothes, but only around 570 have been sold in NA since launch. You will want to try and make your own. You can do this if you follow the pictures below. Here you can see me putting two gathering clothes together at +8 stacks. You can get +1 gathering clothes pretty consistently at 4-10 stacks.

We then take that +1 gathering clothes and try it again at a higher stack.

This might take a few tries! It almost always costs more to craft your own gathering clothes then it does to buy them off the market. Don’t be surprised if you send $12M on trying to get these. The +2 movement and gathering level will prove huge down the road. If you don’t have the money to make these, you can always work towards them later.

Gathering Level: Buffs

There are a bunch of different buffs that you can use to boost your gathering ability. The best bang for your buck is the Balenos Meal. As you can see in the pictures below, my alt goes from having +3 “Gathering Ability” to +5 after using the Balenos Meal.

There are some other buffs you can use like warm milk and others that help with gathering speed but for the most part just stick with Balenos Meals.

2. Magic & Lucky Tools:

Now that you have “Gathering Ability” and “Movement Speed” you can run around from tree to tree or sheep to sheep at a good speed. However, this will only make you burn through your energy faster. You also want to increase the rate at which we get Hard and Sharp Shards. The easiest way to increase your odds is to pop a “Fig Pie”. As you can see below, you can have both the Fig Pie and Balenos Meal running because the duration of both is long enough. This will give you a +3% chance of obtaining a shard.

The other thing you need to do is get either Lucky or Magic tools. These don’t have to be fluid collectors, they can be axes, pick axes, etc. As you can see in the pictures descriptions you can use lucky tools at beginner10 that increases luck when gathering. When you reach skilled 5 you can use the magic tools. But how do you get these? Obviously you can get everything off the market but they usually sell through per-order.

The cool thing about Luck tools is that you can make them yourself. You will need a level 2 or 3 tool workshop to gain access to the blue level 2 tools. You can make regular blue “Steel Lumbering Axes”, “Steel Butcher Knives”, etc. So where do the lucky ones come from?

In order to make lucky workers, you need to make these tools using workers that have a high luck in their stat block. Human workers always have a high luck, so go through what human workers you have and find the one with the highest luck. Get him to make your blue tools. I find that usually you have to make about 10 regular blue tools before one of them proc’s as a luck tool! Make sure you have a lot of resources ready before you start crafting.

Don’t be discouraged if you don’t have a worker empire built up yet. They seem like a lot more work then they actually are, but the truth is you can get the all the materials very easily and setup a small worker empire without much work. However, that is probably another guide for another day 😉

There are a few other tips and tricks you can use to help maximize the durability of your tools and gain energy a bit faster.

PROTIP 1: I highly suggest getting your energy up so that you can gather for longer 🙂 Like building a worker empire, how to get energy is also a discussion for another time. You can use “Cold Draft Beers’ to regain 20 energy, or sleep in a bed to regain energy quicker.

PROTIP 2: But what about magic tools? If you are an AFK fisher, you will find that you will get a ton of Shiny Golden Seals. If you read the description you can see that 10 seals can be traded in for a magic fluid collector!

PROTIP 3: Find some piece of crap weapon and put 2x durability crystals in it. It will actually help you go through your lucky and magic tools less quickly.

PROTIP 4: You can accept the Advancement Quest when you hit Beginner10 or higher. use the black spirit guide and follow the instructions. You can get gathering quests that will give you Hard & Sharp Shards.

PROTIP 5: You can pop Sute Tea or Elixir of Time to get extra gathering experience.

PROTIP 6: The higher your profession, the better you can gather. The higher the rank, the better chance you will proc no energy being used when you gather. If you want to get your gathering up while AFK’ing, you can always gather water.

PROTIP 7: When you are super pro you can get “Sturdy Alchemy Stone of Life” for only $150M to gain an extra 10% gathering drop rate 🙂

Thanks all for reading my guide, I hope it helps! If you have any questions, please hit me up at Jaela_Sorc in game!

Cheers,

Jaela

Worker Empire Guide Write Up - thavas - 03-21-2017

So as some of you saw, I made a post recently for how I manage to make 100 million a day through workers and life skills. I recently removed that guide for the sake of not wanting it to show up on a google search, to hide a bit of my personal methods. I figured I'd take the time to write up a full guide for you all, and just remove my personal enterprise from the factor.
I'll try and format it the best I can, but expect edits and layout changes.

Edit: Here is a really good website to get a good look at what each node produces, its connecting node, and how much investment is. It also has TONS of other useful information about the game map. Highly suggest bookmarking it.

BDOTome is also great, but some of the translations are iffy, and its been a while since its updated

Obtaining Contribution Points(CP)
This section is highlighting pre-Mediah areas to help people get off their feet as far as questing is concerned. By the time you're done with this area, Mediah should be easy to figure out.
First off, Hit O, and make sure the option "ALL" at the bottom is highlighted (grey=off, orangeish/brown=on). You're going to want to do EVERY single quest you come across. All the gathering ones, fishing, hunting, trade, etc. This is going to help boost your skills as well, because they'll give you large amounts of crafting xp. Now, you're going to want to have one character in every city to help yourself do dailies for faster CP. Normally around 250ish you can stop with Velia, Heidel, and maybe the Calpheon ones, but you're going to want to keep doing the Altinova and Valencia dailies past 300+.
Now the quests are going to give you a large amount of CP as well, especially you're first time doing them all. Its best to head back to Olvia, and just work your way through the world as if you're leveling, and pick up every quest.
Here is a map outlining the most direct quest paths The orange is the main route for quests, and the red are good side zones to pick up various life skill quests, and other side ones. (Olvia>Western Guard Camp>Velia>Heidel>East Gateway>Southern Guard Camp>Glish>Southwestern Gateway>Northwestern Gateway>Delphe Castle>Delphe Outpost>Northern Wheat Plantation>Anti-Troll Fortification>Calpheon>Keplan/Keplan Quarry>Trina Fort>Behr>Trent>Lake Kaia>Port Epheria).
The biggest pain in the ass quest out there, is the one to gather 20 Fire Flakes. Fuck that gathering quest, it takes forever. But the entire old area (pre-Mediah) should take you no more then about 12-14 hours to complete (you'll also get tons of knowledge). Mediah should take about 4-6, and Valencia depends really on your character/gear. Some are easy, some are hard, but save those for last. They give an insane amount of CP, so you really want to save anything east of Altinova for after you hit that 300CP soft cap.

Starting our empire
Now that we have a good chunk of CP, and knowledge on how to obtain more, lets shift our focus on setting up the most ideal nodes to start an empire with.
This is where your personal preference comes into play. You need to do a bit of research and see what seems to be in demand on the market. Now, this is where people can be confused. They often look at items that are completely sold out 24/7 and pre-orders. Where this will make you a quick chunk of silver, this can also be tedious items for you to craft, and not worth the investment of your materials. Sometimes, the item you see that has 100,000 listed, can net you a bigger profit then the item thats entirely sold out.
But as far as basic items go, these nodes are vital for any big time processor and worker empire to have.

Breakdown of the above
So by now, this can be getting a bit confusing for newer players. So lets take a moment and break down what we've listed above, and try to make it relevant to the topic for clarity.
Each node you invest into, has a main product, and a sub product. The main product you will ALWAYS get, 100% of the time. This also tends to be the cheapest market price products, but the most commonly used in mass bulk (ex: Iron ore vs Platinum Ore) Now most people will just mass buy ore, but when you're processing 2,000+ a day, that can easily eat into your profit margins big time. Those little 1-2 mil purchases add up quickly, especially when we're using so many different raw materials.
With making a worker empire, there will be plenty of raw materials that you shouldn't ever buy. Those are mostly the smallest item on the list (Iron, Flax, Copper, Fleece, Lumbers). All these items, we can harvest passively with our workers, and normally have a good surplus to work with. Occasionally you may need to invest into another node to up your supply (if you're producing costumes in bulk, its suggested to invest in all 3 flax nodes around Heidel, rather then just 1 node).
Now, there will be some items you'll be forced to buy to keep up mass production on a daily basis. If you're content with making a little bit of everything, then this option doesn't apply to you as much. But if you're looking to mass produce items 24/7, you may need to take to the market for some key supplies. These supplies typically include various Trace and Powders (Trace of Savagery, Trace of Battle, Powder of Time, Powder of Darkness, etc etc). With the node system listed above, you'll earn a little bit of everything, enough to produce a good chunk of change daily (I'd say between 20-60 million) without ever having to hit the market. But if you're looking to get into mass production like I am, then some things you will need to purchase.

Importance of Tools and Gathering
Gathering goes hand and hand with this guide. You should gather as much as you can to make the biggest profit margin possible. Buying things like hides on the market is a massive waste, and its almost never there. And with gathering, comes hards and sharps.
With tool production, your best course of action is to pre-plan what you need a day in advance. Study your stock pile a bit, and see whats going to run out. We want to produce 5-10 grade yellow tools for the supplies we need, and put a HUMAN worker on the task. A human worker has the highest luck%, and will proc the most amount of Lucky Tools for us to work with. On average, with 10 tools made, 1-3 will be Lucky. We take the excess unlucky tools, and sell them to break even (Pure Iron Crystal=90k-ish. Tool=103k-ish).
With the constant use of Lucky Tools, we should walk away with 1-3 hard/sharps per tool used. On average, a Artisan gatherer with about 250 energy, will use 2-3 tools on full energy (I normally get through 2, and 50-100 dura on the last).

Breakdown behind the madness
So what exactly earns us money? What can we mass produce to make that 100m a day?! Well, for the sake of google searches ruining my operation, I really would like to not post my personal operation on this thread. Some of you redditors have it, but I'd like to keep it a somewhat secret so my profit margins don't suddenly get nuked
But, lets go over key items to make! Some of these I do personally make, some I don't. This part is going to require your own trial and error, and your own mix and matching, but for the sake of causing you all to not rip your hair out, 95% of your profit can, and should, be made in Heidel. You'll save massive amounts of CP this way.
  • Costumes They are amazing for a quick buck. Some types take a while to sell, and can clog up your market for hours at a time, and some sell like hot cakes!

  • Tools Seeing as gathering plays a heavy role in our operation, tool production IS A MUST to any high profit operation. Your best method of utalizing this, is to make 5-10 yellow grade tools at a time, depending on what you're looking to gather. Use a human on it, and you should proc between 1-3 lucky tools. Now you can sell the excess unlucky ones for a quick flip (the profit margin isn't that great on these, seeing as Pure Iron Crystals go for around 100k, and the tools go for about 103k. But if you make your own Metal Solvent, and Pure Crystals, thats all profit).

  • Ultimate Reform Stones I'm leaking this secret, only because these things are constantly pre-ordered, and I doubt the market will tank on them. But they are a MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR money maker. With the nodes I listed above, you'll passively gather all the materials needed to produce Grade 3 Armor/Weapon Reform Stones. With the hards/sharps we gather, any excess ones can be used to make these(10 Grade 3+1 Hard/Sharp=Ultimate Reform Stone). It essentially doubles your profit on any hards and sharps you find, and they're constantly pre-ordered. With 2 bases of operation out of Heidel, I make roughly 40-50 mil a day from these.

  • Armor and Weapons Avoid low tier armor and weapons. Steel Taritas, and Grunil will net you the most for armor, and high AP off hands will net you the most for weapons.

  • Horse Gear Big money maker here. But lots of gathering required to have a good production stream going. Worth getting into.
Worker Income VS Crafted Income
Now there are two types of "crafting" you can do to earn a lot of money. The first, is everything we just listed above. We'll call that Worker Income. The other, is Crafted Income. Some of the nodes we have set up, are for Crafted Income. These apply to Imperial Traders, and cooking/alchemy. You'll notice I have a fish node out in Velia. This is for Crafted Income.
My method to this side of crafting, is to save these materials in bulk, craft a ton of them on the weekends, then slowly sell them over the upcoming week. This works especially well with Trade Packs, and Imperial Trade Packs. (I'll let someone with better knowledge handle the Trade Packs guide ).

Ending Notes
I'd like to very quickly stress, that running a worker empire is A LOT of afk work. It's a ton of gathering, lots of afk processing, and micro management. It's not for everyone, and some of these methods might stress people out. I'm writing this guide as a brief summary showing people that making insane amounts of money IS possible without grinding 12 hours a day. But to make any sizable amount of money, it does require effort.
This method can take a while to set up. And even if you are brand new to the game, you can start to prepare for your empire as soon as you hit Velia. I advise using the map I linked above as kind of a guide to see where to go next for quests. Now for some fucked up reason, you can't highlight "all" till level 20, so you may be done with the Velia region and in Heidel. I honestly suggest going back to Olvia and starting over at 20 (it'll be really quick, maybe 2-4 hours at most till you're back where you left off).
And just as a final ending piece, I'll leave you with my daily schedule, from the time I wake up, to when I go to bed.

  • Coffee! Turn in fish from night before, ship everything where it needs to be for the day. Feed workers, set them up on new tasks, and get to the storage, harvest my farm plot (total time, 10m or so)

  • Quickly look to see what I need for the day to sustain my afk work day. Process what is needed while showering. (40m)

  • Work, back to fishing in town for relics (8-10h)

  • Come home, energy dump on gathering. (45-60m to burn all 263)

  • More processing until server refresh at 8pm EST. Set up tools I need to be made for gathering

  • Do my dailies in Calpheon and Altinova. (hour at most. I use 2 characters, one in each city. Separate from my main)

  • Que remaining processing items while market hunting (4-6 hours)

  • Energy dump before bed on gathering, que everything up, and set up fishing.
As you can see, it's a lot of afk'ing. But its perfect for my personal play schedule at the moment. It is a lot of attention to the game, but it's mostly clicking a few buttons every hour or so, then back to Netflix n' Not Chill
This game wore me down hard when it first launched. I grinded my face off 8+ hours a day, and I can't stomach another second at Sausans or I'd probably blow my brains out. I know a lot of people are reaching that threshold again, and I hope this guide gives you an alternative play style, while continuing to make mass profit and gear upgrades. It's almost an entirely different game in itself, and its a breath of fresh air.
I'll be making various edits on this post, and adding/dropping some things here and there. I just wanted to write up a quick rough guide for everyone, while redacting my own personal operations.
Hope this helps

TL;DR: Farm nothing but Potatoes night and day. Every worker must be on a potato node, and you yourself must live in the potato fields.

No Luck and/or no more Silver to spend on the Night Vendor? a total of 26 Grape Vines and depending on your Gathering Speed and your tool you can spend.

Yellow grade gear is currently unavailable in EU/NA and will be coming on 25th September! Farming and Trading mastery is not completed yet either. We presume these will be coming with Life Skill Mastery Part 2.

Navigation

Introduction

Life Skill Mastery is a new Life Skill stat which adds extra rewards to life skills. The amount of Life Skill Mastery you have is affected by your Life Skill level and newly added gear. The gear can be enhanced to raise your Life Skill Mastery, using Black Gems and Concentrated Black Gems, which are also new items.

Your Life Skill Mastery is displayed in the Life Skill tab in your profile window (P). Each Life Skill has a seperate Life Skill Mastery and requires different gear for each one.

Mastery Clothes and Acessories

Manos Clothes and Manos Accessories are obtainable as a rare drop from grinding in certain areas, or can be crafted using Processing (L) > Manufacturing. You can also purchase them from a Luxury Items Vendor.

There are also Blue grade (Izaro) and Green grade (Loggia) Mastery Gear available which gives less Mastery level but is easily obtainable because it is sold by Camellia Loggia at Loggia Farm or Izaro in Heidel.

Manos Accessories will give Life Skill Mastery for each Life Skill but the Manos Clothes are specific to each Life Skill Mastery.

Enhancing Mastery Gear

Life Skill Mastery Accessories will break if the enhancement is unsuccessful.

The Life Skill Mastery Clothes have a safe enhancement up to +5. Life Skill Mastery gear is easier to enhance than regular equipment, with a higher chance of success. But failstacks and valks’ cry do not affect the success rate, and your failstacks will not be reset when the enhancement succeeds, as well as not gaining failstacks when the enhancement fails.

To enhance Mastery gear, you will need Black Gems and Concentrated Black Gems.

The recipes to create these items are listed below:

  • Black Gem
    • Black Gem Fragment x1
    • Black Stone (Weapon) x1
    • Black Stone (Armor) x1
  • Concentrated Black Gem
    • Black Gem x5
    • Sharp Black Crystal Shard x1
    • Hard Black Crystal Shard x1

Black Gem Fragments can be obtained from mobs in Kamaslyvia and Drieghan or you can gather the following items and craft them using Simple Alchemy and one of the 5 different recipes below:

  • Transluscent Crystal x10, Bloody Tree Knot x10, Deer Blood x100, Powder of Darkness x250, Fire Horn x1
  • Green Crystal x10, Old Tree Bark x10, Weasel Blood x100, Powder of Earth x250, Fire Horn x1
  • Mud Crystal x10, Spirit’s Leaf x10, Fox Blood x100, Powder of Flame x250, Fire Horn x1

  • Polished Opal x10, Powder of Time x250, Wolf’s Blood x100, Black Crystal x10, Fire Horn x1

Calculating Life Skill Mastery

Your Life Skill Mastery level is based on the Mastery equipment you are wearing as well as your Life Skil level. To calculate your total Mastery points, use the tables below:

Life Skill Levels
Beginner 1 – Guru 205 Mastery Point per level (up to 500 points)
Guru 20 – Guru 5010 Mastery Points per level (up to 800 points)
For example: if you are Master 11 in fishing, you will have a total of 305 Mastery Points (5 x 61).
If you are Guru 31 in fishing, you will have a total of 610 Mastery Points (500 + (10 x 11))

Gathering Mastery

Gathering Mastery increases the amount of materials you get when gathering, as well as the chance of gathering rare materials.

You will need a Gathering Tool for the type of gathering you are doing. For example, if you are gathering wood, you will need a Manos Lumbering Axe equipped in your life skill tool slot to make use of the Gathering Mastery buff. This is because the Gathering Chance increase buff from Magic/Lucky Gathering tools does not stack with your Gathering Mastery. If you have a Magic/Lucky Gathering Tool equipped, the buff from the gathering tools will be applied only.

You can find more information about this above in the Mastery Tools section of our guide.
