Skill Crafting in Divinity: Original Sin 2 allows the player to combine two different Skill Books and get a brand new Skill. For example if you combine a Necromancer Skill Book with a Fire Skill Book you will get the Skill: Corpse Explosion. Below is a list of all the Skills you can make via Skill Crafting.

The skill book needed for basic skill crafting needs to be a blank skill book, of the same variation as the scroll.

If you recently started playing Divinity: Original Sin 2, you may find yourself wondering what all of the Skill Book combinations are, and what their effects are. In Divinity: Original Sin 2, there are various skill combinations for Fire, Earth, Air, and Water. These combinations will have different effects based on your targets and allies.

While playing Divinity: Original Sin 2, combining Skill Books will unlock new skill types. To learn more about these skills, we put together a guide on all Skill Book combinations in Divinity: Original Sin 2.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 - All Skill Book Combinations

• Skill Combination: Air + Summoning
• Effect: Electric Infusion

Players’ minions will switch to electrical and also learns the electrical discharge.

• Skill Combination: Air + Hunter
• Effect: Erratic Wisp

The target will teleport to a random location when hit by this skill combination.

• Skill Combination: Air + Scoundrel
• Effect: Smoke Cover

This combination creates a smoke cloud that is centered on the player.

• Effect: Breathing Bubble

This skill combination grants players immunity to gas clouds and from suffocation.

• Effect: Vacuum Touch

This skill combination causes damage, suffocation and silence.

• Effect: Vaporize

This spell combination turns surfaces into clouds and cures the petrification and frozen effect.

• Effect: Water Infusion

With this skill combination, the minion switches to water and also gains restoration.

• Effect: Cryotherapy

Converts the nearby frozen surface to magic armor.

• Effect: Vampiric Hunger

This skill combination causes 50% life steal for two turns.

• Skill Combination: Water + Warfare
• Effect: Cleanse Wounds

This spell combination causes heal, removes burn, disabled, decay, poison, and bleed effects.

• Skill Combination: Water + Necromancy
• Effect: Blood Rain

This combination douses fires and makes enemies bleed.

• Skill Combination: Water + Polymorph
• Effect: Healing Tears

Generates tears that will heal the nearby allies.

• Skill Combination: Fire + Summoning
• Effect: Fire Infusion

This skill combination makes the minion to switch to fire and it learns fireball.

• Skill Combination: Fire + Hunter
• Effect: Explosive Trap

This combination sets up a trap which explodes when someone touches it.

• Effect: Sabotage

The grenade or arrow in the target’s inventory explodes.

• Effect: Bleed Fire

Enemies will create fire surfaces when hit by this combination.

• Effect: Sparking Swings

Melee attacks leap to second target.

• Skill Combination: Fire + Necromancy
• Effect: Corpse Explosion

Causes the corpse to explode and deals damage.

• Skill Combination: Earth + Summoning
• Effect: Poison Infusion

With this combination, the minion switches to poison and gains poison dart.

• Effect: Throw Dust

Causes Damage, Blind, and removes surfaces and clouds.

• Effect: Venom Coating

Adds poison damage to weapon attacks for the next 2 consecutive turns.

• Effect: Oily Carapace

This combination converts nearby oil to gain physical armor.

• Effect: Corrosive Spray

This combination causes cone of damage, acid, and atrophy.

• Skill Combination: Earth + Polymorph
• Effect: Turn to Oil

Turns water/blood to oil and removes stuck and shock effects.

Spells | Crafting Divinity: OS Guide

Crafting magic scrolls and books is a bit more difficult. The basic elements are Pixie Dust, some paper (Sheet of Paper/Parchment, or any other, even if something is written on it, but it's not essential to the plot), and a magic quill (Quill/Quill & Ink Pot). The element and type of spells that you create is random.

#1 Attention! You can only create elemental spells (fire, water, air, earth) and witchcraft spells.

#2 Attention! To craft spells, you should have at least level 2 of Crafting and the power of spells increases with the level of your ability.

#3 Attention! You can craft green Unlock Magic spells that open magic locks! The are from the Witchcraft category and the probability of creating them is about 20%. You cannot create a skillbook with it though.

It's easy to get by with your party's base skills and abilities in your early runnings with Divinity: Original Sin II. However, as you progress, the need to acquire more powerful skills becomes paramount to your survival. For better or worse, there are a multitude to choose from. From the fiery devastation of Dragon's Blaze to the rogue-buffing Assassinate, there's something for everybody. But with so many skills to experiment with, it's not always easy to tell which skills are the best for you. While there are 14 different starting classes in Divinity: Original Sin 2, your build is more determined by which skills you learn than by what class or origin you picked during character creation.

In addition to racial, weapon, and Source skills, the 10 main skill types are broken down into the Aerothurge, Geomancer, Huntsman, Hydrosophist, Necrommancer, Polymorph, Pyrokinetic, Scoundrel, Summoning, and Warfare categories.

The wide range of skill combinations makes for a huge number of build types (which we'll be covering more in-depth soon in our character creation guide). For now, you need to know how to get new skills, either by buying books or crafting your own.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 Skill Book Vendors

Right now we only know the locations of Act I vendors, but check back soon for updates on the vendors in the other parts of the game.

Note that you can actually kill the skill book vendors (or get them killed in certain quest lines) and leave yourself out of luck on the skill front until you head to a different area with a new vendor. The Red Prince, for instance, has dialog options that lead to a lethal fight with Warfare skill book vendor Kalias.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 Skill Crafting Combinations

While many skills are gained by buying books at different vendors (or found during the course of the game), you can actually directly craft your own skill books. Crafting these skills can make them available earlier than normal, or in some cases is the only reliable way to get the skill in question.

You just need the appropriate scroll and a book corresponding to the appropriate skill type. Obviously in many cases its better to have a permanent skill (assuming you have the Memory available to learn it) rather than just a single use scroll.
