Corrugated Paper is probably one of the most under-rated art materials that we have nowadays. Little people would know that with just some corrugated paper and a few simple craft supplies, you would be able to come up with beautiful projects. Corrugated paper crafting is definitely fun for all ages. Make beautiful items with this versatile paper. You can make stationery, notecards, boxes, cute displays and even decorate your scrapbook. Making these projects is definitely fun for the whole family!

Manila Workshops, together with IFEX (International Fine Exchange Paper) and Kokoru, are happy to introduce Corrugate Paper Crafting through our workshop, entitled Koko-Cute: A Kokoru Workshop. We are inviting you, both young and young at heart, to learn, have fun and create wonderful memories!

In this workshop, you will learn how to make your own Kokoru figures and pencil toppers.

About IFEX (International Fine Exchange Paper)

About Kokoru

Kokoru is a brand of colored corrugated paper in strips and A4 size. It aims to stimulate and nurture people’s creativity and imagination in schools, in colleges, universities and in lifelong learning. This product provides the creative community with a form of expression and interaction with each other.

About The Speaker

Joness Cubacub is trained in the Food and Beverages Services and Barista under Hotel and Resaurant Services of TESDA. Jone loves the art of making reusable things out of old things. She loves to collect things and upcycles them to be able to use them again. Some of her projects are turning old jeans into bags, tin cans into pen holder and restyling an old study table into a work table. She delved into jewelry making which she sold her friends and relatives. Because of this, she has always been appointed the Christmas decorator in her own household. She also loves painting and drawing. This is the reason hy she believe that any form of art is for everyone. She says “you don’t have to be good at it – you just need to enjoy and love what you’re doing.”

We were asked to review the Kokoru Corrugated Paper by toprint.com.sg, the local distributor. We were given several packs of Kokoru Ichi, which are long strips of colorful paper, and Kokoru Hachi, which comes in A4 size, to create 3d creations. You can create so many objects by combining the basic shapes.

Gnome Garden

You can copy the designs from the back of the packet but we decided to make our own garden themed creations just to see if it was really easy to come up with an original design.

Bird’s Nest

The most difficult part is coming up with the design. Once you have a design in mind, you can easily execute it if you built the design using basic shapes. All you need is a pair of scissors, pencil, hole puncher, and hot glue gun to bring your creation to life.

The Flower and The Bee

When doing this project be extra careful of the hot glue gun. We managed to burn ourselves with the melted hot glue a few times because we got a bit careless.

Overall we had fun making the models. This is a great activity for kids but you need to be careful with the hot glue gun. You can buy Kokoru products at Evergreen stores.

Building a snowman isn't exactly a new winter activity, but what if there's no snow or it's simply too cold outside? If you find yourself in this situation, you can still get your fix by creating one of the following snowman craft ideas. However, these aren't just your average paper plate snowmen (although we've added in a few kid-friendly crafts like that). Instead, we've rounded up full-blown snowman craft décor that you can include in your usual Christmas decorations. Hang a DIY snowman up on your wall along with your other Christmas wall décor or add a small snowman to your collection of homemade ornaments. What's more, we've included crafts for every budget and skill set. Whether you want to get your kids involved in easier projects like the snowman hand puppet and clothespin snowmen, or you want to challenge yourself with something like the wreath ahead, there are enough snowman craft ideas to keep you busy all winter. Not to mention, there is something for every room in your house (we think the Mason jar craft ahead is the perfect seasonal addition to your bathroom). If you find yourself on a Christmas craft spree, we encourage you to add a snowman craft or two to your to-do list.
