Knowing how to build a crafting table in Minecraft is a helpful trick to make more complex items. To build a crafting table and storage chest in Minecraft, you need wooden planks. Follow these steps to use wood blocks to produce wooden planks:
Press E to display the Inventory screen.
Click a square containing wood blocks to pick them up, and then click an empty square in the crafting grid to place them there.
Four wooden planks appear next to the grid.
Click the square that contains the planks.
One wood block disappears, but four wooden planks appear on the mouse cursor!
Click the square that contains the planks a few more times to pick up all the planks you can, or Shift-click to send all planks directly to the inventory.
You can use these planks as building blocks or to build a crafting table and chest.
Your avatar’s crafting grid is a 2-by-2 square; however, many items you need in order to survive require a 3-by-3 grid to craft. To unlock this larger grid, you build a crafting table. Follow these steps to build a crafting table, or workbench:
Press E to open the Inventory screen.
Click a square containing your planks, and then right-click each square in the crafting grid to distribute four planks into the squares.
A crafting table appears on the right, as shown.
Click the crafting table to pick it up, and then click a square in the bottom row of the inventory to place the table there.
You can access items outside the Inventory screen only if they’re on the bottom row. This row is always displayed at the bottom of the game screen.
Press E or Esc to close the inventory.
Use the 1–9 keys or the scroll wheel to select the crafting table.
A thick, white outline appears around the crafting table.
You can use either the number keys or the scroll wheel to select items from the bottom row of the inventory. Place the most useful items in the slots you can quickly access.
Right-click a nearby surface to place the crafting table there.
Right-click the crafting table to view a screen similar to the inventory, with an expanded crafting grid. You use this grid for all crafting recipes in the game, including the chest.
One recipe that pretty much everyone memorises from the first time they play Minecraft is how to make a crafting table. It's four planks arranged in a square.
I guess you mean a crafting table, similar to the crafting table in Minecraft?
You'd create patterns for items. Then you test if the pattern exist in the table. If multiple patterns exist in the table, choose the biggest pattern (for example a door may be 2x3 and a box may be 2x2 - the door trumps the box).
You can see the solution to another answer I provided, which contain a basic pattern matching algorithm.
Then you could define patterns for your recepies:
...For example (1 could mean "wood" or whatever material you want, it's up to you do decide).
Then you could bind patterns to items.
And add other information you want to include in your crafting process, it's up to you.
Finally, you can test it as to see if you got a match.
If you do, save the result and try the next recepie. The "biggest" recepie will then be selected as the item the player wanted to craft, and so you can craft that item

So I made this Minecraft crafting table for them. So this past week my goal was to make their Minecraft room into a big boy room instead of a.
This is a giant fully working crafting table which can be used for crafting most items and blocks. It doesn’t work that much different from an ordinary crafting table except that it is maybe 20 times bigger and is entirely powered by redstone and command blocks. It’s a really cool redstone creation definitely worth checking out. The most interesting part is probably to try to understand how the machine works.

First off you will need to decide on an item or block to craft. In this case, I wanted to craft a diamond sword. For that I needed 1 stick and 2 diamonds. Use the buttons on the wall to obtain the necessary items for the crafting recipe.
Drop the items according to the crafting recipe on the crafting table.
Then step on the “Input” pressure plate and wait for the crafting to process. This might take a little while.
