Prifddinas was a closed-off city in the western part of the world map, and with the release of Song of the Elves, we are now able to enter. It is somewhat based on the model of RS3, but with fewer activities and more of a minimal approach that fits in Oldschool Runescape.
It was created in the First Age, making it the oldest continuous cities in this version of Runescape. It was constructed by eight different clans when elves arrived on the planet, and the city is still divided into having a district for each clan.
You will find the city, although quite large, is mostly made of basic amenities found in other capital cities in the game. The tower of voices acts as the neutral, center of the city.
The Hefin district is in the northeastern part is a spiritual center. Notable features include a fully-operational bank, the new agility course, an altar, a mace shop, a sandpit, and the only pub that sells Elven dawn (which boosts agility).
Amlodd district This district has a magic theme as this clan is made up of mystics. You will find an abundance of magic trees around and it’s one of the closest ones to a bank. There is also the Gauntlet (the new solo dungeon), a magic shop, and a staff shop.
This district is where players may craft crystal equipment using singing bowls. This clan has a crafting theme and you will find a crafting shop, dye shop, clothing shop, a spinning wheel, and a lume.
This district also contains the new POH portal, which can be unlocked for 50,000 coins.
This district is indeed involved with the Iorwerth Clan that’s found in the questline. This is still a friendly area where the player can utilize its facilities.
The slayer dungeon (Iorwerth’s Dungeon) has Waterfiends, Moss Giants, Nechryaels, Bloodvelds, Dark Beasts, and Kurasks. Players may receive crystal shards and there is a possibility of having a Konar slayer assignment here. Since cannons are permitted, it adds a new dynamic for slayer tasks.
Other features of the district include an armor shop, a weapon shop and a fighting arena. This arena cannot be entered by players but perhaps there are plans in the future for this area.
Trahaearn is the mining and smithing district in the southeastern part. You will find the closest anvil and furnace to the bank in the game, making it quite useful for ultimate ironmen as well. There is also a mining shop to buy pickaxes when needed.
The Trahaearn mine is also found here, which feature multiple rune rocks, coal, iron, silver, gold, mithril, and adamantite. There is also soft clay rocks that produce clay that’s already softened, although it may have limited use for high-level players.
The teleport platform in this area leads to Zalcano, the new skilling boss. Fitting the theme of this clan, the boss is based around mining and smithing.
The Cadarn clan is in the southeastern part and are the warriors of the eleven people. There is a woodland theme with plenty of Yew trees close to the bank.
The part of the city features a full bank, a general store, an archery store, and several elves that may be pickpocketed.
This district is the farming area, comparable to Hosidius to an extent. There are teak and mahogany trees nearby a sawmill, making it one of the more efficient ways to get planks for ironmen.
There are flower patches, allotment patches, a Crystal Tree patch, and an accompanying farming shop. The crystal tree patch yields crystal shards to be used for singing.
This district is comparable to seers village and has lots of herblore-related content. You can buy basic herblore supplies, food supplies and there are multiple vendor stalls are similar to those found in Ardougne.
The Tower of Voices
As mentioned in the intro, this tower serves as the cultural heart of the city and is where Seren’s fragment is stored. This tower plays a role in the quest, in which it is recovered from the corrupted Iorwerth Clan. Players may pay Crefydd to set their respawn point to Prifddinas and he’s located on the second floor of the tower.
Another point of interest is the Elven Crystal Chest, which is used with a regular crystal key enhanced with crystal shards. Rewards are almost identical to the crystal chest, but with the chance to get the new Dragonstone armor set.
Another unique aspect of Prifddinas is that it has an exclusive impling, the Crystal Impling. It requires a hunter level of 80 to catch and does not wander outside the walls of the city.
As it is the third highest impling in the game, expect the rewards to be in between Ninja and Dragon implings. The only thing players want from this impling is the Elven signet, which slightly boosts the longevity of crystal equipment. The rest of the rewards are well under 100,000 coins in value.
The Eternal Teleport Crystal
The teleport crystal can be kind of a nag since it needs to be recharged. The update has brought in the rare Eternal Teleport Crystal, being made from the enhanced crystal teleport seed, currently worth over 600,000 coins. The conversion with a singing bowl required 80 crafting and smithing so it isn’t something that is simply purchased.
The enhanced crystal teleport seed is a very rare drop from pickpocketing elves around the city or killing guards. Thieving with the Rogue outfit does increase the chance of getting one.
While Prifddinas does offer new stuff, nothing is particularly necessary to the game and most players will probably be found at Zalcano. Although this does contain the best lace to smith bars, use anvils or crate self-cut planks, there were already more efficient methods in the game. It remains to be seen if more updates will come to the city, or if The Gauntlet or Zalcano will receive nerfs or buffs. Chisels are needed to cut gems of every level.
When you’re dealing with gold or silver jewelry, you can’t make anything without moulds.
In order to craft glass items, you will need a glassblowing pipe. This will be used with molten glass in order to create several types of objects.
When crafting leather, you will need a needle paired with thread in order to make it. Both of these items are stack-able.
This is needed when creating dragonhide shields or birdhouses.
In order to make battlestaves, which is one of the most popular methods, you will need a source of orbs. This can be from monster drops, self-made or bought from the exchange.
While there are a few routes to get started with the skill, there is nothing easier and faster than creating regular leather items. You start with gloves and you can go all the way to chaps. This is fully available for F2P players as well.
Leather gloves are around 20,000 experience per hour if you buy everything from the Grand Exchange. When you unlock chaps, you can get well over 50,000 experience per hour.
It may not be so fast to gather and tan leathers for Ironmen, but it isn’t a bad choice if you plan on getting a few combat levels anyway. The best place to kill cows is the pen near the Al Kharid gate, in which the tanning shop is within view.
F2P players may choose to create hard leather bodies at level 28, but since there are better methods out there, it’s best to move on after level 20 or so.
An alternative but expensive means of training would be to start making pots from soft clay at a potters wheel and then firing them into a finished product. When you get to pie dishes, not only is it faster experience, you can nearly break-even since they are in high demand.
Obtaining your own soft clay isn’t a very viable method unless you are an Ultimate Ironman. You can simply powertrain be using the clay rocks in the Crafting Guild, wet them in the sink, and then create pottery at the wheel and oven. This can be over 20,000 experience per hour once you learn how to do it efficiently.
Whether you have deep pockets or are stuck in F2P, cutting gems has always been one of the fastest methods in the game. The drawback is that you will take a big financial loss and it may take a while to hoard gems due to buying limits.
Starting out with just sapphires, you can get over 140,000 experience per hour, which beats even high-level training methods. The maximum gem available in F2P are diamonds, which can reach over 290,000 experience per hour.
Cutting dragon stones require the biggest investment, but they are the fastest and are around the same loss per XP as Diamonds. Expect over 360,000 experience per hour if you can amass enough of them.
A reasonably fast way to train to craft is making tiaras at the Edgeville furnace. You just need a Tiara mold and silver bars, and then you can just AFK train as your character goes through the inventory. Each tiara gives 50 experience and you should get around 40,000 experience per hour.
Since the sell for a decent amount at general stores, Ironmen tend to craft these from scratch for fast experience and gold. The idea is to mine the silver ore in Al kharid, run over to the furnace, and then sell the finished product at the store. Alternatively, you can mine the ore in Varrock and then use it in Edgeville.
Blowing glass items with a glassblowing pipe and molten glass is the ultimate bank-standing method to train Crafting. You probably notice lots of people doing it at the grand exchange, and it’s because it is a relatively cheap way for high-level crafting.
While there are multiple low-level glass items that can be made, it really isn’t worth it until you unlock unpowered orbs at level 46. They are the most cost-effective orb as they resell for a decent price and you should easily be able to get 90,000 experience per hour. Also, these orbs are worth keeping for when you start making battle staves.
For the fastest possible experience, save your molten glass to make unpowered light orbs at level 87. There isn’t much of a market for them so you will probably just vendor them or drop them.
If you wish to make your own molten glass from scratch, simply farm Giant seaweed and use nightmare zone points to buy buckets of sand in bulk.
While there are multiple steps involved in creating elemental battle staves, the idea is just to attach charged orbs to regular battle staves by purchasing both from the grand exchange.
Scaling experience rates are given to water, air, earth and fire orbs with air being the best. Crafting air staves gives a little over 330,000 experience per hour, which is over 70,000 more than training with water orbs.
If you’re an Ironman, it’s also a good way to train Crafting and amass gold by doing everything from scratch. This includes creating orbs from molten glass, enchanting them at an obelisk, attaching them to each staff, then using high-level alchemy to produce raw GP.
To obtain cheaper battle staves, be sure to buy your daily amount from the Varrock staff shop and then hop worlds and buy them at a shop of choice. The Magic Guild or Lunar Island are good places to buy staves since there is less competition than in Varrock. Otherwise, you can buy staves from the Grand Exchange for over 1,000 gold extra.
The creation of Dragonhide armor using dragon hides is a concept introduced with the launch of Runescape 2 and it still remains a vital part of the game. Pretty much every hide is a source of fast experience, and if you resell it, it won’t be too much of a loss in gold to go this route. The price of crafting these can vary and sometimes is comparable to creating battle staves. It’s up to you which method to use based on varying market prices.
While you can start off with Green d’hide vambraces, it would be more efficient to wait until level 63 to craft bodies. This is considering that every dragonhide gives the same amount of experience and crafting a body uses up 3 in one action instead of just one.
The experience scales for every tier of a dragon, and so does the cost. Crafting green d’hide bodies gives 300,000 experience per hour, blue giving 340,000 an hour, red 390,000 per hour, and black with 420,000 per hour.
It’s entirely possible to offset the cost by killing your own dragons, and you probably will if you plan on leveling Slayer. Keep in mind that it probably won’t be the most efficient means, unless you plan on killing the Red dragons in Forthos Dungeon with its built-in hide tanner.
If you need an easy, economical way to train, cutting Amethysts is comparable to cutting emeralds but at a fraction of the price. Making bolt tips at Level 3 is pretty cheap at around 2 gold per experience. When you hit 87, start making javelin heads for around 1 gold per experience and the same experience rate.
Amethysts are stackable and obtained in the new expansion in the Mining Guild, requiring level 92 mining. If you are an Ironman or prefer to save money, you can mine them on your own. This way, there isn’t a need to bank and you’ll gain passive mining and Crafting experience. You will also end up in an economic surplus since ammo tips sell quickly.
With the introduction of new enchanted silver jewelry, which uses the lesser jewels, there is a new demand to create rings, necklaces, and amulets out of silver. Although, the prices shift rapidly so you have to check and see which items are worth it. Some jewelry is worth enchanting before re-selling and others are not. You will have to calculate the current profit margins to see what’s worth doing.
One example is the Dodgy Necklace that people use to accelerate the speed of Thieving training. This is created with a cut opal, silver bar and is then enchanted. Jade amulets are also needed for necklaces of passage, which teleport to unique spots in the game and is often used for low-level questing.
Another example is the Burning Amulet that’s made with jade gems. This amulet is always needed by people training at Rev Caves and they are often lost to player killers. Keep in mind that they need to be strung, so that adds a bit to the cost when calculating how much profit you will make.
It’s no secret that blowing glass is a popular AFK way to train Crafting, which is why there’s always a demand for Molten Glass. It’s simply about using a combination of soda ash and buckets of sand on a furnace, similarly smelting ores. Each glass gives 10 crafting experience.
Now to make this method even more interesting, unlocking the Superglass Make spell turns it into a high-level training method and moneymaker. This requires the Lunar Spellbook and 77 magic.
Each inventory should consist of 3 Giant Seaweed and 18 buckets of sand. Once you cast the spell, your entire inventory will fill up with molten glass. You simply bank and repeat until everything is used up. If you withdraw more seaweed than what’s needed, you’ll just drop the extra molten glass on the floor.
With the current prices, you should make well over 700,000 gold per hour while getting over 100,000 Crafting experience. Note that this is not an AFK method like creating molten glass in a furnace, but it’s well worth it.
If you are an ironman, you should go about this in a slightly different manner. The easiest way is to buy regular seaweed and sand from charter ships and then crafting your molten glass on the spot. You may also farm your own Giant Seaweed and gather buckets of sand in Yanille. If you plan on making elemental battle staves, be sure to create orbs.
When you hit level 5, whether it’s through questing or using leather, you have access to one of the laziest means of crafting training: Gold Rings. Each ring gives 15 experience and depending on current prices, you may double your investment from making them. You can do this until you get to other tiers of gold jewelry, and you may start making sapphire rings for faster experience.
While there are many options available, the best mix of gold and AFK training in Gold Bracelets, which some players do until level 99. These bracelets sell for a high price at premium
Players that care more about AFK experience or are locked to F2P will likely choose gold amulets. There is still a decent profit margin, but they give 30 experience over the 25 bracelets give.
If you make amulets, you can save them if you were going to train magic using the String Amulet spell to save money. You will get a small amount of crafting experience and you can resell the strung amulets to vendors. Stringing jewelry by hand isn’t worth it at all.
While loads will go quicker and be less AFK, creating gemmed jewelry can be lucrative. Depending on prices, you may create sapphire necklaces, ruby rings or whatever has a decent price margin. If you’re an Ironman, you may sell your jewelry in Port Sarim for well above the going rate on the Grand Exchange. Cheap gems may be obtained from various vendors around the game, although you may have some competition in buying them.
Spinning flax is an iconic way to make AFK money in the game, and due to the current price gap, it is still reasonable to use it for low-level crafting. The best spinning wheel to use it on is in the Lumbridge Castle while using the bank upstairs. Expect over 20,000 experience per hour and a little over 100,000 gold in profit.
Thanks to the Lunar Spellbook, it’s even more efficient to spin flax as it removes the need to walk to and from the bank. This transforms the experience per hour to around 70,000 (along with magic) and you can still make over 200,000 per hour in profit. These experience rates are assuming that you are clicking with full attention as it isn’t exactly an AFK method.
Casting this spell does require completion of Lunar Diplomacy and you will need to invest in Astral and Nature runes to get started. Fortunately, the spell works on 5 flax per cast and you can do your whole inventory in just 5 clicks.
Pot lids are an overlooked item and are part of the One Small Favour quest. If you take a look at unfired pot lids versus finished ones, you will see that there is a significant price margin. Of course, the drawback is that you need to have the quest completed to use this as a training method.
Each lid gives 25 experience and the best location would either be the Crafting guild (if the bank chest is available) or East Ardougne (somewhat near a bank).
If you have trouble selling just lids, you may also combine them with regular pots to see if they sell faster. The idea is to create a small batch and sell them to players doing quests.
The stone bowl is used in the Tears of Guthix to catch tears from the cave protected stone mine to get a magic stone and then use a chisel to craft it into a bowl.
Table of Contents
1.0 - Introduction
Crafting is a skill used by many in RuneScape to help give them an edge in combat or make some quick cash. Players often use Crafting to make items like amulets, armour which can enhance your fighting stats, or give you protection. Using crafting you can also make items to help you explore places like lanterns or hold food like bowls and pie dishes.
2.0 - Crafting Equipment
You will need a number of supplies to begin crafting. To create silver and gold jewelry you will need moulds and for leatherworking, you will obviously need leather as well as a needle and thread. It is important that you are familiar with these things to make your crafting careers much easier.
A crafting store will carry most of the supplies in its stocks, but you will have to obtain other crafting supplies or equipment from other areas around RuneScape. This table will show you where to get the supplies that you will need.
3.0 - Forms of Crafting
Crafting comes in many forms. Here are all the uses.
3.1 - Pottery
Pottery is a skill that is not very useful at the higher levels, however many lower levels may find it helpful in leveling up their crafting. Here is the basic method of crafting pottery.
You can find Pottery wheels and ovens in the Crafting Guild, Barbarian Village, in the western part of East Ardougne, and in Rellekka. This table shows all the forms of pottery.
3.2 - Spinning
Spinning is yet another basic form of crafting; however, it plays a useful role in the world of crafting and others skills as well.
Three items can be spin into a form of string. When "Wool" from a sheep is spun, you will get a ball of wool. Use the balls of wool on amulets or wherever else needed. The best location for flax is found in Lletya; there is a field of flax just outside the bank. Alternatively, you can find flax in Taverley, Seers' Village, Lunar Isle and the Tree Gnome Stronghold. Spin flax into bowstrings. Finally, the Magic Tree Root, obtained whilst farming, will produce a string for the Amulet of Nature.
You can find spinning wheels in the Lumbridge Castle, Falador, Crafting Guild, Barbarian Village, Seers' Village, Lletya, Sophanem, and in tree houses in the Tree Gnome Stronghold It's worth noting that if you are getting flax from a bank and spinning it, it is fastest to do so in Lumbridge Castle. However, it's best to make bowstrings in Seers' Village if you are picking your own flax, because the spinning wheel is on the way to the bank.
Below is a table showing the items that you can spin:
3.3 - Cape Dyeing
Dyeing capes gives a little bit of crafting experience. You can dye them red, blue, yellow, orange, green or purple. To make dyes follow the steps below. Once you have the dye color of your choice, use the bottle of dye on your cape.
3.4 - Leatherwork
Leatherworking is one of the most popular forms of crafting. It involves obtaining the hide of a dead dragon, snake or cow, tanning it and then sewing the leather to produce armour.
Killing cows, you can obtain cowhides. Killing bush snakes, you can obtain snake hides, Bush snakes jump out of dense jungle in the Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup Mini-game. Killing respectively colored dragons, you can obtain green, blue, red or black dragonhides.
To tan your hides simply take them to a tanner in Crafting Guild, Al-Kharid, Rangers' Guild or Canifis. They will charge you 1gp to make regular leather and 3gp to create hard leather. If you bring them a dragonhide, they will ask 20gp each. In return, you will receive your leather. The tanner in Al-Kharid is the closest to the bank and there is a crafting shop in the town.
Now that you have your leather, you require a needle and a bunch of thread. Use your needle on the leather and craft your desired piece of armour. You use one thread for every four hides, so make sure you have enough.
To create studded chaps and body, simple make soft leather body chaps. Then smith some studs (1 steel bar = 5 studs), which requires level 36 smithing, and add them to the pieces of leather armour.
If you wish to add spikes to your vambraces and add +2 strength to them, then use kebbit claws on your vambraces. The only way to get kebbit claws is by either hunting kebbits or buying them from another player. The below table shows each spiked vambrace and its stat bonuses.
3.5 - Silver
Silver working is an area of crafting is the common route to try to gain levels fast. The steps for working with silver are:
You can find popular furnaces in Al-Kharid, Falador, Shilo Village, and Port Phasmatys.
3.6 - Gems and Golden Jewelry
You can obtain gems in RuneScape as drops from monsters, through mining, or stealing from various stalls or vaults. Opal, jade, and red topaz are obtained by panning in the Digsite area or through mining the gem rocks in Shilo Village. You can only obtain Uncut Dragonstones by using a crystal key on the chest in Taverley (or buying from another player). Certain very strong monsters can drop cut Dragonstones.
To cut a gem, simply use a chisel on it and if you have the required crafting level to do so, you cut the gem. There is now a "Cut X" option to make for easier gem cutting. You can use cut gems in the creation of jewelry and bolt tips.
Golden jewelry is one of the most rewarding areas of crafting. When you use magic to enchant your jewelry, you will gain new abilities such as teleporting or extra strength in combat. In RuneScape, it is possible to make rings, necklaces and amulets out of gold. Here are the steps to making golden jewelry:
When your golden jewelry is complete, you can then enchant it. Please note that only members can enchant rings and necklaces. For more information on enchanting, visit the magic guide.

3.7 - Glasswork
Glass working is not very popular as it is so complicated, but can be very useful in certain situations. Here are the basic steps to glass working:
Seaweed spawns on the shores of the river in Shilo Village, on the coast of Entrana, or you can catch it using a big net. Seaweed can be bought from the charter ship members for 2gp each, along with soda ash. You could also pick up seaweed from the spawn in Piscatoris Fishing Colony, and use the big nets to catch monkfish at the same time. You can fill your bucket with sand on Entrana, in Yanille, Zanaris (The Lost City), Shilo Village or Rellekka. Bert's sand service from the Hand In The Sand, The quest is also useful for collecting buckets of sand.
Alternately, after completing the Dream Mentor quest, you can use Lunar Magic to make molten glass. The Superglass Make spell, which requires level 77 Magic, 2 Astral runes, 6 Fire runes and 10 Air runes, can transform instantly turn your soda ash and buckets of sand into molten glass. It is an instantaneous transformation, but it consumes your buckets. Wield a staff or either Air or Fire, and withdraw 13 buckets of sand and soda ashes, and you should end up with up to 22 molten glasses. This is much quicker than using a furnace, but as mentioned before, you will lose your buckets.
The candle lantern, oil lamp and lantern lens are used to make lanterns to explore dark dungeons. For example, the Lumbridge Swamp caves require a form of light source. If you do not have one when you enter, complete darkness will surround you.
You can make Lamp oil by using swamp tar with the lamp oil still in the Chemist's house in Rimmington. You can light the lamps by using a tinderbox on the lamp in inventory.
1 :: Dorgeshuun Light Orb
The Dorgeshuun Light Orb can give you an extra 104 crafting xp if you use a copper filament on it. Copper filiaments can be obtained by theiving the chests in Dorgesh-Kaan. The completed lighttorb can then be used to fix broken lighttorbs in Dorgesh-Kaan.
3.8 - Battlestaves
Battlestaves are an upgraded version of the regular staves that are available in stores. They require high-leveled magic and crafting in order to make them. Here are the steps involved:
The air obelisk is accessible from in the Edgeville Dungeon by a ladder in the underground wilderness north of the black demons, the earth obelisk is located in the Edgeville Dungeon by the demon Chronozon in the underground wilderness, the fire obelisk is located in the Taverley dungeon by the black dragons, the water obelisk is located up the ladder in the Taverley dungeon by the black dragons.
3.9 - Weaving
With the addition of the farming skill, players are able to weave baskets and sacks to hold some of their crops. You can find Looms in the Isafdar, in the house by the Falador farming plot or in Sophanem. To weave, simply use the materials on the loom and you will be able to create a basket or a sack.
|Vegetable Sack||21||38||4 Jute Fibres|
|Fruit Basket||36||56||6 Willow Branches|
3.10 - Miscellaneous Crafting
When you kill a Mort Myre Snail in the Mort Myre swamp they will drop a shell. If you use a chisel on the shell, you will be able to make a snelm, which gives crafting experience. You can wear these snelms on your head and come in a variety of shapes and sizes depending on the snail it came from.
The Shades of Mort'ton quest brought Limestone brick crafting. You would mine limestone from rocks located near the temple leading to Mort'ton, then use a chisel on the limestone to get a limestone brick. There are also some limestone rocks in Tirannwn.
When you kill a Broodoo Victim in the Tai Bwo Wannai area, he will drop a mask, which you can turn into a shield. The shields require two tanned snake hides and eight nails each. Have a hammer in your inventory and use it on the shield with the snake skins and nails in your inventory.
During the Cold War quest, you are required to build a clockwork penguin at your crafting bench using a plank, a piece of silk and a clockwork mechanism.
4.0 - Training Methods
This section outlines what to craft as you level and your options. Each level frame has two sections: Members as well as Non-Members.
Level 1 - 16
Non-Members: Start by crafting gloves. Although its requirements are only level 1 crafting, it gives very fast experience. Since you have not met the requirements to enter the Crafting Guild, you cannot enjoy the equipment located in the guild. Start by going to a Cow Field (Located at Lumbridge or beside Crafting Guild and start killing Cows, which drop cowhides. Collect roughly 200 hides by banking them once your inventory is full. Head to Al-Kharid and start crafting your gloves. Experiments have proven that no other way is better than crafting Gloves at level 1.
Members: Similar to above. There is no low level members-only crafting technique, which beats crafting gloves.
Level 16 - 28
Non-Members: You can now craft Holy symbols. Many top crafters still use this method to craft, as it is cheap and easily accessible. Start by mining Silver over at West Varrock Mine. Since Silver is easy to mine, for low-level crafters, Holy Symbols are the best way for you to advance with until you can make Tiaras at level 23 crafting. The closest Furnace to a Bank would be the Furnace located at Al-Kharid; it is only a few steps away from the bank.
Members: Once you are Level 10 Crafting, Flax is the fastest and cheapest way to level up your crafting. The nearest Flax Plant to a Bank is over at Lletya; there is a field of flax just outside the bank. There is a Flax Plant just outside the bank, never was picking flax done with so much speed. After collecting the amount of Flax you want, head to Lumbridge and spin your Flax on the spinning wheel located on the second floor of Lumbridge Castle. A bank is located on the top floor of the castle, so this would be the quickest method for spinning. Unlike Flax, Silver crafting requires a lot of time spent mining Silver. Experiments have proven Flax crafting faster than silver crafting.
Level 28 - 50
Non-Members: Non-Members should craft Hard Leather Bodies once they reach level 28 crafting. Since your Crafting level is still quite low, Hard Leather Body are more effective since you do not need many Cow Hides to advance to higher levels. If you do not mind buying Cow Hides, which costs 80-200gp each, buy around 2,600 cow hides, which will help you level up till 50 crafting. If you do not wish to spend money, another alternative way is to stick with crafting Tiaras and mine the Silver by yourself. Experiments have proven that crafting Hard Leather Body is almost twice faster than crafting Tiaras.
Members: Stick with spinning Flax as they still give very fast experience.
Level 50 - 63
Non-Members: Since you will need too many hides just to level up crafting now, crafting Tiaras is the most effective way. Especially because of the fact that you can now enter the Crafting Guild (level 40 required), which is the fastest place to mine Silver; you will be able to obtain Silver more efficiently.
Members: Stick with either Flax or start crafting unpowered orbs over at Entrana and banking them if you plan to craft battlestaves in the future, or go for Bullseye Lantern Lenses for the highest glass crafting xp. Because, at level 50 crafting, you will need to spin almost 1,000 flax just to level up. By banking the Orbs, when you reach the required crafting level to craft battlestaves, you will have the Orbs to make it.
For Orb crafting, it is best that you bank the Unpowered Orbs, as they will be extremely useful when you can craft battlestaves. Here is one of the best ways to craft orbs:
If you are interested on power crafting with Orbs, Entrana is the place for you as the Sandpit, Furnace, Range and seaweed spawn are all very close together. Simply drop the Orbs you make and repeat the process.
Level 63 - 99
Non-Members: To reach level 99, your best option is to mine and craft Tiaras. If you do not mind wasting money, buy Silver ore and smelt them into bars before making them into Tiaras. Another option would be stick with Hard Leather Bodies while buying the Cowhides/Hard Leather from other people.
Members: This is where the fun starts to come in. You can now craft Full Green Dragonhide Leather. Although the exp rewarded is 2 times faster than crafting battlestaves, the time spent collecting Dragon hides unbalances its overall experience rating. To collect a full load of Dragon hide takes anywhere from 8-25 minutes, while getting a full load of Orbs charged would only take 3-5 minutes maximum. If you have a low combat level and don't mind spending money buying dragon hides from other players, crafting Dragonhide Armour is the best and fastest way to go. If not, the most economical way is crafting battlestaves.
The nearest and safest Obelisk is the Air Obelisk compared to the other three Obelisks. Thus, crafting Air battlestaves is the only type of battlestaff you should craft, as the others would be extremely tedious. Here is the fastest way to craft battlestaves:
Crafting can be expensive, especially if you buy your materials from sellers. If you get the supplies yourself, though it can become profitable or you can at least break even. The cheapest thing that gives good, fast experience is regular leather for non-members or flax for members. If you have a lot of money and wish to invest in crafting, silver on f2p or dragonhides on members is the way to go.
