Almost every information (except videos/GIFs) you see on this page are also present in-game. Use this wiki to quickly find custom crafting recipes using the "find" function: press CTRL+F (or ⌘+f on MAC) and write the name of the item you want to craft.

If that item is not present in this list, it means that it can be crafted using a normal crafting table.

 1. Map mechanics

This entire map starts on a floating island placed in the middle of a completely void world

You'll be able to decide its style but you'll always start with the same amount of materials:

                             - 4 lava buckets

                              - 2 water buckets

                               - 32 bone meal

                                - 1 quest book

The entire map mechanics are based on custom ground crafting recipes meaning

that if you drop certain items on the ground, you'll be able to craft other items.

We call the process of mixing elements to create new elements an 'alchemy'.

Starting from just lava and water, alchemy after alchemy, you will be able to craft ANY item or block existing in the game with just some exceptions (you won't be able to craft mob spawners or command blocks)

When doing an alchemy, remember these three simple rules:

  • Make sure that there is land underneath so crafted items won't fall in the void
  • Make sure that there are at least 3 blocks of air above the dropped items. Why? It's the way command blocks are set up.
  • Make sure to drop the required items on top of the same block. Certain alchemies will not work if the items are dropped on top of two different blocks even if they are 1 pixel away from each other.

Due to how Minecraft works with certain commands, alchemies cannot be done in the nether or end dimension. If you do them there, you'll lose the items.

10. Automation

Here are a couple of tutorials on how to automate your machines:(coming soon, ignore these videos for now)

11. Did you find a bug or got stuck playing this map? Let us know!

If you found a bug or are stuck and cannot continue playing, send us an email at: [email protected]

Here are a couple of frequent asked questions/stuck situations (they might help you):

/1/"I can't craft the second guide book."

If this happens, please temporarily turn your game language to English, craft the second book and then change your language back to what it was before.

/2/ "I can't upgrade the mineral extractor to tier 2. Stonecutters don't work."

You have to use the custom stonecutters and not the vanilla ones which were added in the "village and pillage" update.

As stated on page 11 of guide book #4, you can craft them by dropping 1 piston + 1 iron pickaxe + 1 observer.

/3/ "My foundry doesn't generate podzol."

If podzol doesn't generate, make sure that your foundry's cauldron is filled with water.

If you really need those different types of saplings, here are the coordinates of the random floating islands containing them:

14. Initial Steps

All initial steps are carefully explained in a detailed way on the quest books when you start the map. Here's a summary of initial steps to do in order to thrive on "The Alchemist Evolved":

- Make an infinite water source
- Make a cobblestone generator
- Craft your first tree using 1 sapling and 1 dirt
- Craft stone tools
- Mine the 7 iron ores inside the little island and craft a cauldron with them
- Generate more lava by dropping stone and a bucket on a cauldron with lava source beneath
- Build a foundry and melt buckets into iron ingots
- Craft shears and shear leaves
- Build little wooden or cobblestone platform to let mobs (especially skeletons) spawn.
- Build a composter using trapdoors and use it to generate more dirt
- Craft coarse dirt using gravel and dirt
- Drop 1 oak leaf block on a coarse dirt to get string (33% chance) from silkworms
- Survive by either producing more dirt and farmland and then planting wheat or by fishing using a fishing rod made with sticks and string from silkworms
- Build a mineral extractor to generate more iron
- Build a portal to the nether
- Mine netherrack
- Drop netherrack on a mineral extractor to get redstone drops
- Use the redstone to craft stone cutters and use them to upgrade the mineral extractor to Tier 2
- Use stonecutters to automate composters: place on top of a composter (it will also auto activate any dispenser placed under a composter that has an air block beneath)
- Also use stone cutters to automate the cobblestone generator
- Craft a cobweb (or fish it)
- Use cobweb to craft a sifter
- Use podzol and coal on a tier 2 mineral extractor to get more minerals (iron gold and lapis)
- Craft spawn eggs of different types of mobs that you can then breed
- Spawn a Snow Golem from the Genetic Modifier and use it to generate snow

The vendor recipe system allows the player to sell items to any town vendor in exchange for a multitude of currency items and equipment. Each recipe requires semi-specific items or combinations of items be put into the sell window at the same time, and the outcome will change based on any recipes that have been matched. Unless noted otherwise, each item may only be involved in a single recipe at a time.

Items (and their costs) sold by vendors as part of their normal inventory are covered on the vendor page.

Direct Purchases from Vendor

Most orbs are purchasable from vendors, and can thus be ranked like coins in normal currency. There are several progression tables below showing who sells what and what their equivalent value is in a measurable orbs. Instead of using the sell window, one must click "Purchase Items" when talking to a vendor. These are not technically recipes, but are included here for convenience.

Currency items that have shards/fragments are italicised.

In Part 1, Clarissa, Petarus and Vanja and Lani have all the Main Progression purchases. In Part 2, Bestel, Yeena, Clarissa, Petarus and Vanja and Lani have all the Main Progression purchases.

Comparison with player market

The set vendor prices restrict the possible exchange rates in the player market; for example, a Chromatic OrbStack Size: 20Reforges the colour of sockets on an itemRight click this item then left click a socketed item to apply it.

Single Item With Mods

These recipes result from selling a single item and are based on its mods. This is the simplest and easiest way of selling items, though more complex recipes can be more profitable.

Scroll Fragment

This is the "default" recipe. If an item does not have any more powerful recipe, it defaults to producing a Scroll Fragment. 5 Scroll Fragments automatically combine to form a Scroll of Wisdom.

Result Recipes

Transmutation Shard

Transmutation Shards come from single, unidentified items. 20 Transmutation Shards automatically combine to form an Orb of Transmutation.

Alteration Shard

Alteration Shards come from single, identified items depending on their mods. 20 Alteration Shards automatically combine to form an Orb of Alteration. Some mods may give Alchemy Shards instead or in addition to Alteration Shards.

Orb of Augmentation

An identified rare item with six affixes can be traded for an Orb of Augmentation. Note that magic items may only have a maximum of two affixes.

Result Item mod
1x Orb of AugmentationStack Size: 30Enchants a magic item with a new random modifierRight click this item then left click a magic item to apply it. Magic items can have up to two random modifiers.
Shift click to unstack.

Alchemy Shard

A few mods give Alchemy Shards instead of or in addition to Alteration Shards. Most corrupted and enchanted mods give Alchemy Shards. 20 Alchemy Shards automatically combine to form an Orb of Alchemy.

Orb of Scouring

Quality Items

These recipes produce currency items that improve the quality of their category of items. To produce one requires one of the following:

  • A single normal item (not magic, rare etc) of that category with 20% quality.
  • Items of that category with a total of at least 40% quality (works for all rarities).

Vendor Recipes

Example of the vendor recipe system
